MUNDUS ACP II Project (24/11/2011)

The call for the submission of online application for the MUNDUS ACP II project was launched on the 15th October 2011 and will remain open until January 2012.

The MUNDUS ACP II project is being coordinated by the University of Porto within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Programme Action 2, comprising 20 Higher Education Institutions from the European Union and the ACP Countries (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific).

The project is financed by the European Commission and its main goal is to enhance the cooperation in the area of Higher Education between the EU and the ACP Countries, by supporting Master and Doctorate student mobility (from the ACP Countries to Europe) as well as Teaching Administrative Staff Mobility (in both directions) and in all areas of study .

With further support to the implementation of the mobility, this project involves the payment of monthly travel insurance.  The project also includes the payment of tuition fees to the host institution.  The call for submitting the online application (only applications submitted through the project’s website will be considered)

The University of Porto is a Portuguese higher education institution with origins dating back to the eighteenth century.  Having completed this year 100 years of existence, the University of Porto is currently the largest education and research institution in Portugal.  With 14 faculties and a business school, the University of Porto provides an exceptional variety of courses, covering the whole range of study areas and all levels of higher education.  Every year, more than 3,500 international students and researchers choose this university to complete their higher education.

Within the framework of its policy of internationalization, the University of Porto has been participating in several applications to international programmes that support the mobility of students and academic staff and is honoured to coordinate the MUNDUS ACP II Project, a renewal of the project coordinated last year for the same geographical region.

Detailed information concerning the eligibility criteria and the application procedures are available in the enclosed leaflets as well as in project’s website (available in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English):
