The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, general Patrick de Rousiers, has briefed the Committee on his recent visit to Japan on 6-10 March on the invitation by the Japanese Chief of Staff, General Iwasaki.
The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, Gen. Patrick de Rousiers, discussed contemporary security challenges, crisis management and military training and education with the Minister of Defence, Mr Martin Stropnicki and with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, Lieutenant General Petr Pavel during his visit to the Czech Republic, on the 6 February.
In his recent trip to the Horn of Africa, the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, general Patrick de Rousiers, paid a visit to the members of the EU Training Mission Somalia, who are based in Mogadishu (Somalia).
It directs all EU military activities and provides the Political and Security Committee (PSC) with advice and recommendations on military matters.
The EUMC is composed of the Chiefs of Defence (CHOD) of the Member States, who are regularly represented by their permanent Military Representatives (MilReps).
The EUMC has a permanent Chairman, selected by the Chiefs of Defence of the Member States and appointed by the Council.
