A warm welcome to the website of the European Union Delegation to the African Union. Here you will find information on the overall political framework of the partnership between the EU and Africa as well as details of our work with the African Union Commission and its member states in Addis Ababa.
The establishment of the Delegation in January 2008 was an important political statement by the EU : the recognition that the African Union and its Commission has become a strategic partner in our relations with Africa.
Since then, the Africa-EU Partnership has gone from strength to strength, notably following the 3rd Africa-EU Summit held in Tripoli in November 2010, which agreed on the implementation of a Joint Action Plan 2011 – 2013.
For information on the eight partnerships which represent the cornerstones of our partnership with Africa and the AU, please refer to our institutional framework. In addition to issues related to peace and security, which are very prominent in our work, you will discover the very broad agenda of our partnership, ranging from governance issues, MDGs, climate change, energy and infrastructure, to higher education, migration, science & technology and more.
In our press corner, our newsletter LINK! provides regular updates on the EU-Africa partnership and will keep you informed about latest developments.
Links to the websites of the European External Action Service and the European Commission will guide you further in better understanding all facets of European integration and EU policy towards Africa and the world.
You are welcome to send us any comments, suggestions or questions you might have concerning the Delegation and the Joint Africa-EU strategy.
