Partnership EU-Africa: Infrastructure road map adopted (29/03/2012)

On 29 March the 4th meeting of the Infrastructure Partnership Steering Committee, (PSC), was held in Addis Ababa.

The meeting brought together the African and European Commissions, the European Investment Bank, the African Development Bank and members states of the AU and EU as well as financing agencies and the RECs.

The meeting adopted a Joint Statement which contained a road map which will guide the work of the Partnership in the coming years.

The Steering Committee was established in Addis Ababa on 24 October 2007, during a special session, which took place immediately after the official launching of the Africa-EU Infrastructure Partnership. The Steering Committee has a mandate to:

  • Offer policy guidance and orientate the activities of the Infrastructure Partnership.
  • Promote the ownership of all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the coordination between stakeholders at national, regional and continental levels.
  • Facilitate the coherence and consistency of strategic plans/activities
