“Stop Human Trafficking!”: EU project holds awareness raising campaign for young people in Belarus
On 2-8 December, an awareness raising campaign called "Stop Human Trafficking!" will be held in Brest, Hrodna, Vitsiebsk, Mahiliou, and Homiel. The campaign is conducted in the framework of the EU/UNDP/UNICEF project "Preventing, Fighting and Addressing the Social Consequences of Trafficking in Human Beings in the Republic of Belarus" in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Belarus and the departments of education of the regional (oblast) executive committees.
The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness among young people on the issue of trafficking in human beings and rules for travelling abroad. Activities will include interactive discussions on the issue of trafficking in human beings, quizzes on basic safety rules when travelling abroad, and the presentation of the video film "Inhuman Trafficking", depicting harrowing stories of young women trapped in sexual exploitation in Europe.
