Welcome to the website of the Delegation of the European Union to Botswana & SADC
The office of the Delegation to the Republic of Botswana was first opened in 1981 and since then has greatly expanded, reflecting the increasing importance of the relationship between the European Union and Botswana. In 1991, the Delegation acquired a regional role with the establishment of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat in Gaborone.
Within this site, you will find information on the EU's activities and programmes and its relations with Botswana and SADC. In addition there are links to information on the European Union and the policies and activities of its institutions and Member States.
The Lisbon Treaty has brought about important changes to the conduct of the Union's foreign policy. In this regard, you may find the information at the following links to be helpful.
