Dear Visitors,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. I am delighted you have taken the time to visit us.

Our website is intended to serve as a gateway to the EU, its institutions and policies. Here you will find an overview of the relations between the EU and the Kingdom of Cambodia. It is also a source of information on funding opportunity as well as the scholarship to study in Europe.

After the entry in force of the new European Union Treaty, known as the "Lisbon Treaty", in December 2009, the EU now has an enhanced role on the world stage.  For the EU – Cambodia relations, this translates into more mature dialogue encompassing all aspects of our relationship including inter alia political, security and regional issues as well as cooperation and trade.

The EU and Cambodia relationship has developed considerably since early 2000s with the opening of the first Delegation in Phnom Penh. My appointment in November 2011 as first resident-Ambassador in the Kingdom is a strong sign of commitment from both the European Union and Cambodia to strengthen and deepen our relations.

The close relationship between the EU and Cambodia is enshrined in the EU-Cambodia Cooperation Agreement, a "friendship pact" which focuses on economic and development cooperation as well as respect for, and recognition by both parties of, democratic principles and human rights.

Through sustained political dialogue, substantial development assistance, support to democratic processes and a strong commitment to open market, the EU has been working closely with Cambodia along its efforts to build a brighter future for its population and play an active role on the regional and international stages.

I hope you enjoy exploring our website and please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions and comments. Your feedback is very much welcome to help us improve.

Thank you and good surfing,
