Welcome

The Delegation of the European Union to Eritrea is the diplomatic representation of the European Union (EU).

The Delegation was established in 1995, four years after Eritrea's independence. Since then the Delegation's team has been committed to deepen relations with Eritrea, by supporting the Eritrean institutions and civil society in their efforts to strengthen governance and achieve inclusive sustainable socio-economic development.

The Cotonou Partnership Agreement lays the legal framework for the EU-Eritrea cooperation. It aims at reducing poverty, promoting human rights, good governance, democratic principles and the rule of law, as well as supporting the achievement of the Millenium Development Goals. We are also committed to implement the principles of alignment, ownership and harmonization, set out in the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness, which are fundamental to strengthen our partnership with Eritrea.

Please browse our website at your leisure and feel free to contact the EU Delegation with your questions or comments.
