Kosovo celebrates Europe Day (09/05/2012)

Kosovo marked yet again the most important day that defines the European Union - Europe Day on 9 May. The European Union Office in cooperation with the Ministry for European Integration organised a series of activities Kosovo-wide which took place over five days. Citizens had the chance to get first-hand information on EU and relations between Kosovo and Brussels from EU institutions, including EUSR/Head of the EU Office Samuel Žbogar, representatives of EU member states, ambassadors, as well as representatives of Kosovo institutions.

The activities brought thousands of visitors and participants to Europe Day fair in the centre of Pristina, mini-football tournaments for children in six municipalities followed by screening of EU-funded documentaries, walking and cycling for environment on the new EU-funded path in Peja/Pec, classical music concerts in Gjakova/Djakovica and Pristina, conference on artistic mobility and lectures on EU for students in schools across Kosovo. EUSR/Head of EU Office Samuel Žbogar also hosted the traditional Europe Day reception to mark the occasion.
