Promoting Soft Fruit Processing (23/11/2011)
EC Liaison Office Head of Operations, Mr. Christof Stock, visited the project “Promotion of agriculture, horticulture, livestock and fruit processing in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica region” which is run by the Initiative for Agriculture Development of Kosovo (IADK).
Mr Christof Stock saw the work in the small factory, and spoke with the women and the trainers. Mr Stock says, "It was great to see the people working and being economically active. These small scale projects, particularly in the agricultural sector, are important for Kosovo's economy. This soft fruit processing unit will also serve as promoter for the development of fruit cultivation in the region, especially for strawberries."
The Initiative for Agriculture Development of Kosovo (IADK) is an organisation in Mitrovica, which was established on 2004, it is engaged in rural development, and is working for the creation of better socio-economic conditions in rural areas, unemployment and import reduction, healthy food production, the rational use of natural resources and environment protection in Kosovo.
