Overview

EU- Mexico cooperation falls within the framework of four complementary branches. The bilateral cooperation at government level is being implemented for the period 2007- 2013 (CSP 2007-2013) pdf - 4 MB [4 MB] and focuses on Social Cohesion, Sustainable Economy and Competitiveness, and Education and Culture. In a second level there are cooperation programmes on specific issues such as Human Rights and Democracy, Environment, and Non State Actors. This is managed through calls for proposals. There are also regional programs for all of Latin America, where Mexico participates actively. Fourthly, the European Commission has invited Mexico to participate in other comunity programmes such as the Seventh Framework Programme on Science and Technology.
