Overview for Projects
The European Union (EU) is Syria's main donor. Around 30 EU-Syria cooperation projects, including bilateral, regional and thematic initiatives, support Syria's own reform agenda in a wide-range of sectors, regions and cities. EU assistance focuses on support to the health and educational sectors, economic, local and urban development, environmental projects, civil society and cultural activities, as well as support to Iraqi and Palestinian refugees. EU cooperation is demand-driven, results-oriented, and facilitates capacity-building through expert and policy advice.
