Perspectiva geral
The European Union's multilateral support to Timor-Leste is provided through the European Commission (EC). The latter is represented in Timor-Leste by the EU Delegation (EUD), housed in Casa Europa, located centrally in Dili. The EUD manages the multilateral aid assistance to Timor-Leste in close cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the other Ministries or State entities concerned, and in consultation with the EU Member States represented in Timor-Leste.
There are two types of programmes/projects managed by the EUD: (a) interventions funded under the European Development Fund (EDF) on the basis of the Country Strategy Paper (CSP) and National Indicative Programme (NIP) agreed and signed between the EC and the Government of Timor-Leste; the latter is represented by the Minister of Finance who assumes the role of the National Authorising Officer (NAO), and (b) interventions funded under thematic Budget Lines.
