Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EU Delegation to Türkiye

Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Türkiye?

We offer:

A traineeship of 6 months in 2026 within the Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Türkiye. The tentative start date is 01 July 2026.

The Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation is the EU’s main communication arm in the host country. Its role is to explain the European Union’s policies, values, and actions, and to promote a clear and coherent understanding of EU–host country relations among the public, media, and key stakeholders. It acts as the primary interface with journalists, providing timely information through press releases, briefings, interviews, and media monitoring, while also managing sensitive or crisis communication when necessary.

The section designs and implements the Delegation’s overall communication strategy, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with EU institutions and Member States. It manages the Delegation’s digital presence, including the website and social media platforms. At the same time, it ensures the visibility of EU-funded programmes and projects by highlighting their impact and applying EU branding standards in cooperation with implementing partners. Through public diplomacy and outreach activities—such as events, debates, cultural initiatives, and high-level visits—the Press and Information Section strengthens dialogue, transparency, and trust, while also reporting back to Brussels on media trends and public opinion in the host country

Main tasks:

  • Support the Communication team with the preparation, implementation and follow-up of public events and campaigns organised by the Delegation (both internal and external), including those related to COP 31
  • Attend coordination meetings and draft minutes, liaise with other teams across the EU Delegation and with external partners as part of communication team’s activities
  • Contribute to operating the Delegation’s website and social media
  • Support the team with the administrative and other relevant tasks

We look for:

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Recent university degree, ideally in public communications
  • A knack for communication and organisation of events
  • Familiarity with web, social media and relevant platforms and tools
  • Knowledge of the EU and its relations with Türkiye
  • Knowledge of Turkish language is an asset
