The EU congratulates Ukraine following the conclusion of the negotiating process for their accession to the World Trade Organisation (28/01/2008)

This follows the mutually satisfactory agreement on export duties reached by Commissioner Mandelson and Vice-Prime Minister Nemyrya last week in London.

Our teams in Geneva have worked around the clock to finalise the last technical issues, and we are now in a position to have a consensus in the WTO on Ukrainian accession at the next General Council on 5.2.2008.

The European Commission would like to thank the WTO Secretariat for its good work under time pressure.
