Welcome to the website of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Vanuatu!
The EU has been working since 1984 to build a solid and friendly relationship with the Government of Vanuatu. We feel we are today a trusted and valuable partner who accompanies the ni-Vanuatu people in their political, social and economic development.
The Delegation works daily to expand the European Union’s knowledge and support in Vanuatu. In particular the EU assists the government and the Non-State Actors in their endeavor towards a transparent and accountable management of human, natural and economic resources, aiming at a sustainable development, and benefitting all the people of the country.
Currently the Delegation to Vanuatu comprises 7 staff members: The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. heads the office and is the acting Head of Mission - except when the non-resident Ambassador (based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and accredited to PNG, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu ) visits the country. A Programme Officer ensures the monitoring and follow-up of the projects supported by the European Union. An Administrative Assistant, one Junior Expert and two Local Agents complete the team.
