About the Ambassador

Dear Cameroonians, dear Equatorial Guineans,

It is with great enthusiasm that I take up my duties as Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.
There is a saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.”
It is in this spirit that I approach my new mission.
I come to Cameroon with a strong conviction: diplomacy begins with listening and finds its true meaning in action.
First and foremost, I want to take the time to listen and to understand. To meet the women and men who bring Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea to life, to discover their realities and aspirations, but also the challenges they face. I am thinking in particular of young people, entrepreneurs, women, civil society and all those who, every day, are helping to shape the future of their countries.
The European Union has long been a partner of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. We share a history and strong ties, but what interests me most is what we can still build together.
Our interests converge in many areas: the economy and investment, job creation, youth, security and maritime cooperation, the environment, as well as culture and exchanges between our societies.
I believe in practical diplomacy. A diplomacy that listens before it proposes, that seeks common ground and that turns our shared priorities into meaningful action.
The European Union and its Member States have been long-standing partners of Cameroon. My ambition is to build on this trust and go further: to talk less about what we do separately and show more clearly what we can achieve together.
Over the coming years, I look forward to travelling across these two countries, meeting people, listening, sometimes debating, and above all working with our partners to achieve concrete results.
Listen, connect, act: this is how I intend to bring our partnership to life and, together, build the next chapter of our relationship.
