TRAVEL & STUDY
Travel & Study
To slow down the spread of coronavirus and protect the health and well-being of all Europeans, some travel restrictions have been necessary. The European Commission is doing its utmost to allow people to meet friends and family and to ensure free movement of citizens, goods and services – with full respect to health and safety measures.
Travel to the European Union
On June 15, 2020, the European Commission launched Re-open EU. The platform was initially set up as one of the measures announced by the Commission in its Tourism and Transport package to help travelling and tourism safely resume in the EU while respecting the necessary health precautions.
Travelling in Europe is the official website of the European Union for people travelling in the 27 EU countries. Here you will find practical advice for both holiday and business trips: necessary documents, health care, mobile phones, etc.

Study in the European Union
Universities in European Union countries are among the oldest and most prestigious in the world and are a popular destination for Chileans who want to study abroad
Since 2002, more than 870 Chileans have studied in European universities thanks to Erasmus+, the European Union's programme for academic mobility and cooperation projects in education.
Each year Erasmus+ offers four types of programmes:
- Study Abroad: International credit mobility offers study abroad opportunities to students, researchers and university staff for 3-12 months within Erasmus+ Programme countries.
- Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree: An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) is a prestigious, integrated, international study program that allows you to earn a joint master's degree from two or more higher education institutions in Europe.
- Capacity Building Projects: Erasmus+ capacity building projects aim to modernise higher education institutions, develop new curricula and build relationships between institutions.
- Jean Monnet Activities: Jean Monnet Activities aim to promote excellence in teaching and research on EU studies around the world, and foster dialogue between academics and policymakers on EU policies through activities such as modules, chairs and centres of excellence on EU-related topics.
- Other funding opportunities include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions for doctoral education and postdoctoral training and research grants from the European Research Council.
