Who we are
The European Union is a unique integration project in the world. In more than 70 years, it has created an area of today's 27 Member States and almost 500 million people. The European Union is a global political and economic player, and the region with the highest standards of democratic development, social cohesion and living standards. As part of its relations with third parties, we can highlight Association Agreements, such as the one it has had with Chile since 2002.
The Delegation of the European Union in Chile has the status of diplomatic mission and officially represents the European Union in Chile
The Delegation of the European Union in Chile opened in 1967 in Santiago, becoming the first of its kind to be established in Latin America.

- To inform the public about the development of the European Union, as well as explaining and defending EU policies.
- To coordinate work with EU Member State Embassies in all fields, particularly in areas of EU competence such as trade and cooperation.
- To be the EU's contact point with media and civil organisations (universities, chambers of commerce, trade unions, NGOs, etc.) in Chile.
