Honouring the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis: A Call for Solidarity and Action
The climate crisis is already affecting every region of the world, including Africa, where extreme weather events are placing additional pressure on livelihoods, food security, health systems and sustainable development. The European Union remains committed to working with partners, including the African Union and its Member States, to accelerate climate adaptation, reduce disaster risks and support resilient communities. Through investments in preparedness, early warning systems and sustainable development, the EU seeks to help countries better anticipate, withstand and recover from climate-related shocks.
EU
Through initiatives such as the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and broader international partnerships, the EU is strengthening prevention, preparedness and response while supporting long-term climate resilience. As we commemorate the victims of the global climate crisis, we reaffirm our shared responsibility to act decisively honouring those who have been lost by building a safer, more resilient and more sustainable future for all.
