In memoriam - Sisay Shiferaw
We knew Sisay as a sincere colleague ; very humble and energetic at the same time. Sisay was a very dedicated person, but also a family man. Rather shy in nature, he opened up when talking about his family. He was also a team player and showed his talents in our Monday evening matches.
Sisay was a true hands-on person who was ready to dedicate unlimited hours of his time to cope with a difficult IT infrastructure and always come up with a solution. Notwithstanding his demanding work (the only IT expert at the service of 50 staff) and being the sole provider of a family of three children and homestay spouse, Sisay always sought to improve. For example, he just graduated from a masters programme in project management.
His success and colleagues’ appreciation was built on his genuine openness and his ability to train himself to support others without any judgment at all. We lost a bridge on our floor, on our building; a coffee mate, a footballer, a family guy and a committed colleague – always in the office early and leaving late.
We will miss you very much dear Sisay.
EUAU Delegation colleagues have shown great solidarity in support to Sisay’s wife and children. We also support the initiative launched by our RITO:
