Europe Week 2025- A space to create

From 17 to 31 May, Europe Week 2025 will echo through music, movement, visuals, and stories — opening a space for everyone to experience culture together.
Through a rich and diverse array of artistic disciplines, themes, and locations, Europe Week 2025 showcases the transformative power of culture in society. The programme aims to inspire creativity, promote diversity, spark dialogue, drive progress, and encourage reflection and critical thinking.
Rather than describing Europe, in this year’s edition of Europe Week, we have invited artists to define it and communities to experience it—through a culture-led approach that prioritizes meaningful engagement and emotional connection over mere visibility.
Following an open call that attracted over 200 applications, 11 artists and artistic groups have been selected to participate in this year’s edition. Their works—ranging from theatre, music, film, exhibitions, performance, and contemporary art—offer unique explorations of identity, memory, freedom, love, uncertainty, and belonging.
The selected projects include:
• ATA Group, Elsa Demo, Klodian Gjonpalaj – My Song – Theatre
• BERK – The Post-Language Society – Theatre
• Blerta Kambo – Love Is the Same – Visual Arts
• Ema Andrea, Aida Talliente, Elvira Boncuore – Lingua Madre – Theatre
• Musica Nova, Harlen Nikolli, Mikaela Minga – Dialogues in Sound – Concert
• Lorin Terezi – Locally – Cross-disciplinary Documentary
• Mardit B. Lleshi – Sonic Circle – Concert
• Olsi Hoxha – Source of Uncertainty – Visual Exhibition
• Redina Qose – Where Will the Swallows Go? – Exhibition
• Rona Nishliu, Gent Rushi – JALBOZ – Concert
• was bleibt kollektiv | Gentian Doda – Between Steps and Shadows – Contemporary Dance
These works will be presented in over 30 cultural events across 9 cities in Albania: Tirana, Kamza, Shkodra, Durrës, Korça, Elbasan, Vlorë, Pilur (Himarë), and Berat—creating a cultural map that invites public engagement and reflection.
In addition to performances and exhibitions, Europe Week will also host TalkArts sessions and Artist Talks, providing a platform for dialogue and exchange on music, film, theatre, and the performing arts. These conversations will explore the role of culture in shaping the present and imagining a better future.
More than a campaign promoting EU values, Europe Week 2025 is a collaborative space—a network of co-authors, not a brand. It is a European space, where diversity thrives, freedom is expressed, and Albanians come together to ask:
What does it mean to be European?
