Improvement of Water Supply Systems in Rural Areas, Albania

Overall Objective

To promote sustainable social and economic development in Albanian rural areas, specifically to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants and encourage economic development through small and medium-size interventions into rural water supply systems.

Activities

• Construction/reconstruction of rural water supply schemes
• Investment-related technical assistance for engineering services for design and supervision

Expected Results

Water supply systems in selected rural areas are constructed, ensuring the population has access to the drinking water of quality according to hygienic norms.

• Approx. 23 schemes of water supply systems (re)constructed (IPA funds only); 
• About 37 000 inhabitants benefiting from new or improved water supply services (IPA funds only)
