Dragon Boat Regatta, 9 November Canberra

How many nationalities can you fit in a dragon boat? Paddlers from across the European diplomatic community will compete in the Dragons Abreast Canberra Social and Corporate Regatta in support of breast cancer research.

Team EuroStars includes 28 paddlers representing Austria, Cyprus, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and the European Union. And features Ambassadors Michael Pulch (EU), Bernhard Zimburg (Austria), Tomas Ferko (Slovakia) Betty Pavelich Sirois (Croatia) and High Commissioner Martha Mavrommati (Cyprus).

It's the 20th anniversarry of the Dragons Abreast Regatta and to celebrate the event will take on a 90s theme. Teams from across the country will take part.Come down and support team EuroStars!

Time: 8am - 2pm, Saturday 9 November. 

Address: Grevillea Park, Lake Burley Griffin, Morshead Dr, Barton ACT 2600.

Training

Time: 3:30-5pm Friday November 1 and Friday November 8

Address: Lotus Bay, Alexandrina Drive, Yarralumla, next to the Yacht Club

 

What to bring? Hat, sun screen, sun glasses, water bottle, snack, towel and a change of clothes just in case! Old sneakers/running shoes (they will get wet) or Crocs  but no thongs or sandals. Also bring an extra pair of shoes to wear after.

 

The two optional training sessions for regatta all competitors take place on Sat 26 Oct at 10:30am – 12:30pm and Sat 3 November at 9am – 11am.
