EU Ambassador’s Official State Visit to Tasmania

EU Ambassador to Australia Gabriele Visentin recently concluded his official state visit to Tasmania.

In Hobart, Ambassador Visentin met with key leaders, including Governor Barbara Baker AC, Premier Jeremy Rockliff, Speaker Michelle O’Byrne, President Craig Farrell, Minister Madeleine Ogilvie, and Chief Justice Alan Blow.

The trip saw the EU and Tasmania identify opportunities for enhanced cooperation and highlighted the deep ties between the two regions, particularly in the areas of sustainability, innovation, and trade.

Ambassador Visentin also connected with major Tasmanian businesses like Incat Tasmania and Liferaft Systems Australia – the companies internationally recognised for their innovation in maritime engineering.

Tasmania and the EU has incredible potential and we look forward to building on our partnership in the future.
