EU sponsors the Belgian Embassy’s Bee Fair

On the occasion of World Bee Day, the EU Delegation sponsored the .befair at the Embassy of Belgium. The event allowed outside visitors to tour the Embassy’s premises to gaze at the 5 established beehives and the bees within, while enjoying live music and a market with fresh honey products.

The proceeds of the honey sales were donated to “Help on Bee Wings”, a non for profit project that rebuilds beehives and support beekeepers who went to defend their country and their families in Ukraine.

The EU Embassies of Finland and Slovakia were present selling their local beehives’ honey and other products made with it.

Hundreds of people stopped by to taste the home-made Belgian honey beer, meet Maya the bee and participate in a multi-prize raffle.
