Europe Day 2021: European consuls collaborate and celebrate!

The Greek, Italian and Croatian Consuls General were joined by Honorary Consuls from Austria, Croatia, Estonia, France, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal Spain and Sweden for the flag raising at Perth Council House together with Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas.
It was the first time West Australian-based consuls came together to mark the ocassion. A small group also got together in Fremantle on Europe Day, 9 May.
A number of prominent landmarks around Perth were lit up in European Union colours, including the Perth City Council House (above), Matagarup Bridge (below) as well as Mount Street, Sky Ribbon and Joondalup Drive Bridges as well as Northbridge Tunnel entry.
Brisbane
Queensland-based consuls also came together to mark Europe Day collectively for the first time in 2021. The group hosted a reception at the City Hall on Wednesday 12 May together with European Union Ambassador to Australia Michael Pulch and Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner.
