Flickerfest is celebrating LGBTQI+ stories from around the world in the 6th year of Rainbow Shorts, curated by award winning queer filmmaker Craig Boreham. EU Delegation to Australia sponsors the EU Rainbow Award 2024.

Best of EU Shorts Showcase 2024

Don’t miss the incredible cinematic celebration of all things Euro and Flickerfest at the Best Of EU Shorts Showcase 2024. The programme presents the best of moving and entertaining shorts from the European Union countries, all competing for the EU Delegation to Australia Award for Best EU Short Film. Highlights include the surprising and funny Swedish short The Film Might be White, directed by the filmmaker Sebastian Johansson Micci and the powerful Spanish world premiere, questioning race and economy, The Masterpiece, by Àlex Lora.

Red Carpet Closing Night Awards Ceremony 2024

Sunday 28^th January, 7:00 pm

During the ceremony, EU Ambassador Gabriele Visentin will present awards in the categories: The Best of EU Shorts 2024 and The EU Rainbow Award 2024.

Flickerfest National Tour 2024

Dates for the 2024 Flickerfest National Tour will be announced soon.

The tour takes the main competitive programmes and some special sessions to many regional and metropolitan areas, which rarely have an opportunity to view this collection of the best of the Australian & the world’s short films; Flickerfest will present films at 50+ venues Australia-wide.
