Building Rohingya refugee and host community resilience in Cox’s Bazar – Phase 2

Based on lessons learned from phase 1(in Pekua & Teknaf upazilas and camps 7 & 14), the integrated building resilience program phase 2 will be scaled up to two additional upazilas Cox’s Bazar Sadar & Maheshkhali and three new Rohingya camps (8E, 8W, 14) to meet the needs of children, adolescents, women and their families in both rural and urban areas.. Key project components focused on district-levels systems, community facilities and post-training opportunities in different sectors e.g. education, child protection, and water, sanitation and hygiene etc. Activities to address the worst effects of COVID-19 on the participating areas are also included.

Overall objective: Contribute to strengthening the resilience of Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi communities in an integrated manner in Cox’s Bazar District.

Specific objective: Improved access to effective basic services for Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi communities

Expected results:

• Improved access to education services and learning opportunities - pre-school, primary and secondary education and skills development (vocational training) – in a protective environment for Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi communities
• Enhanced food and nutrition security for Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi communities.
• Improved access to water and overall hygiene and sanitation conditions for Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi communities.
