Enhancing Skills for - and Leadership by - Women in Bangladesh

The European Union Delegation in Bangladesh is supporting Shoktikonna (“Power Women”) - a grassroots-driven initiative designed to advance an inclusive green transition by empowering young women and preparing them to become leaders in the country’s renewable energy and sustainability sectors.

On 16 October 2025, the Green Skills Summit 2025 brought together youth, industry leaders, and development partners, with a focus on enhancing access to employment opportunities, leadership roles, and decision-making positions.

The initiative is part of the Team Europe Initiative on Climate and Energy in Bangladesh, which is mobilising EUR 3.7 billion.

The Summit featured inspiring messages from Marjeta Jager, Deputy Director-General of DG INTPA, European Commission, emphasizing Europe’s commitment to partnerships for climate resilience and inclusive growth, and from Michael Miller, EU Ambassador to Bangladesh, highlighting Shoktikonna’s critical role in preparing women leaders for the green economy.
