Title

Sustainable Reintegration and Improved Migration Governance

The Prottasha project aims at contributing to the sustainable reintegration of returnees and the progressive achievement of SDG 10.7, including through the implementation of planned and well-managed policies, capacity building and awareness raising. It addresses in particular the reintegration into Bangladeshi society of those migrants irregularly residing in Europe returning home and the strengthening of government and private sector systems and policy to provide appropriate migration services.

Objectives of the action

Overall objective: To contribute to the sustainable reintegration of returnees and the progressive achievement of SDG 10.7, “to facilitate orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people, including through the implementation of planned and well-managed policies in Bangladesh”. In line with the commitments undertaken by the European Agenda on Migration and within the framework of the Sustainable Agenda 2030, the project contributes primarily to the progressive achievement of Goal 10.7 (SDG target 10).

Specific Objectives (SO):

  1. Irregular migrants returning to Bangladesh are sustainably reintegrated
  2. The capacities of the Government of Bangladesh and other migration actors are strengthened to manage migration at central and local levels, and to ensure reintegration of irregular migrants
  3. Returning migrants, aspirant migrants, families, communities and local government and private sector actors consistently make informed decisions about migration, and practice and promote safe, orderly and regular migration behaviours, including remittance management

Final beneficiaries

3000 returnees from Europe and, on ah-hoc basis, transit countries, their family and community
