Rusia: Declaración del Portavoz sobre la decisión de prohibir Deutsche Welle

La decisión por parte de las autoridades rusas de prohibir la difusión del canal de televisión público Deutsche Welle en Rusia, revocar la acreditación de sus empleados, sugerir considerar al canal como un “agente extranjero” y cerrar sus oficinas en Moscú es inaceptable y carece de cualquier justificativo.
La decisión de los reguladores alemanes de prohibir al canal estatal ruso RT DE operar en el país debido a la ausencia de una licencia válida no está relacionada de ninguna forma con el trabajo de Deutsche Welle en Rusia.
La reacción de las autoridades rusas lamentablemente demuestra una vez más sus continuas violaciones a la libertad de prensa y su indiferencia hacia la independencia de los medios.
Expresamos nuestra solidaridad con Deutsche Welle y su personal en Rusia y continuaremos monitoreando la situación. Esperamos que Deutsche Welle tenga acceso pleno y justo a procedimientos legales para impugnar esta decisión injustificada.

The decision by the Russian authorities to ban the German public service broadcaster Deutsche Welle from broadcasting in Russia, revoke the accreditation of its employees, suggest to consider designating it as a ”foreign agent” and close its office in Moscow, is unacceptable and lacks any justification.
The German regulator’s decision to ban the Russian state broadcaster RT DE from operating in the country due to the absence of a valid licence is entirely unrelated to the work of Deutsche Welle in Russia.
The reaction of the Russian authorities regrettably illustrates yet again their continuous violations of media freedom and disregard for independence of the media.
We stand in solidarity with Deutsche Welle and its personnel in Russia and will continue to follow the situation. We expect that Deutsche Welle will have full and fair access to legal steps in order to challenge this unjustified decision.
