The EU is committed to working with our partners towards protection of nature, in all its forms
In this light we have adopted the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 - a comprehensive, ambitious, long-term plan for protecting nature and reversing the degradation of ecosystems. The strategy aims to contribute to global efforts to put biodiversity on a path to recovery with benefits for people; for the climate; and the planet. Protecting wildlife and fighting illegal wildlife trade are critical components of this strategy, which are part of the Green Transition priority of our Cooperation that has a global budget of € 2.1 b.
