CAMEROON - EU–AU exchange in Yaoundé on Agenda 2063 and the Joint Vision 2030

A strategic exchange involving several Ambassadors of the European Union and its Member States, together with Ambassadors of African Union Member States accredited to Cameroon, was held on 12 December in Yaoundé, focusing on the alignment of the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the EU–AU Joint Vision for 2030.

The event was organised by CEIDES (African Centre for Diplomatic, Economic and Strategic Studies), a Yaoundé-based policy and dialogue platform, at the initiative of the European Union. CEIDES brings together diplomats, experts and academics to foster informed debate on international relations, governance and development issues, and serves as a recognised local forum for strategic dialogue.

Discussions addressed key priorities of the EU–AU partnership, including regional integration, economic transformation, peace and security, youth, mobility and governance. The exchange followed up on the political orientations set out at the AU–EU Summit of Heads of State and Government in Luanda and took place within the framework of the Samoa Agreement, which underpins the EU–Africa partnership on a long-term, predictable and values-based basis.
