15th Annual EU concert kicks off Christmas season in Ottawa

The Delegation of the European Union to Canada and the diplomatic missions of EU Member States hosted an evening of European Christmas carols and songs on featuring performances by Ottawa Catholic School Board Choir, Ottawa Children's Choir, Ottawa Gay Men's Chorus, Chorale Lyrica, Ottawa Four Seasons Brass Ensemble and guest performer soprano Solomia Chabursky.

Led by distinguished artistic director Timothy Piper, the concert attracted more than 1,300 concertgoers. Music was performed in 25 different European languages – the EU’s 24 official languages and Ukrainian, in a show of respect for the extraordinary resilience of the people of Ukraine in their fight for freedom, democracy and the right to choose their own destiny.

EU Christmas Concert 2022

The concert was held on 2 December at the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica in Ottawa, a heritage site and home to the EU Christmas Concert from the very beginning.
