EU-Canada 4th Joint Ministerial Committee

On November 11, EU High Representative/Vice-President Kaja Kallas and Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand met in Niagara for the fourth Canada–EU Joint Ministerial Committee (JMC) to advance our close partnership and review progress since the 20th EU-Canada Summit held on 23 June 2025.

 

At a time when shared values are being tested, the JMC reaffirmed that Canada–EU cooperation remains a cornerstone of stability, resilience, and prosperity.

Canada and the EU expressed their commitment to further advancing the initiatives announced at this year’s Summit, and reaffirmed their determination to further strengthen their robust and enduring partnership.

Both sides reiterated their unwavering commitment to promoting peace, security, and stability worldwide, and to deepening coordination on regional and global challenges. They also underlined the importance of implementing the EU-Canada Security and Defence Partnership and reaffirmed steadfast support for Ukraine.
