EU-Canada young journalist fellows on study tour in Brussels
The 2022 edition brought together a group of six young Canadian journalists, including 2020 laureates, Léa Carrier, Anna Desmarais and Jacob Lorinc, as well as 2021 laureates, Claire Porter Robbins, Laurie Trottier, and Moira Wyton. They travelled to Brussels from as far as Whitehorse, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, and New York. The study was an opportunity for the fellows to get familiar with the structure and decision-making process of the European Union and its institutions.
This year’s study tour included inside tours of the European Council and European Parliament, meetings with experts from the European External Action Service and the European Commission on such subjects as the war in Ukraine, disinformation, climate action and EU’s Arctic Policy.
The Delegation of the European Union to Canada is pleased to partner with the Canadian Association of Journalists on this initiative aimed at giving young Canadian journalists an opportunity to advance their career goals and form life-long connections with Europeans.
The next edition of the EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship will be launched in March 2023. Watch this space and our social media channels for updates.
