EU Delegation lifts curtain on the 34th annual European Union Film Festival

The films are Ottawa premieres and feature a mix of every genre from crime thrillers and documentaries to comedies and historical dramas. The EUFF offers a unique occasion to enjoy the best of contemporary cinema produced in the European Union.
In his speech, EU Delegation Chargé d'affaires Brice de Schietere thanked the audience and all partners involved , including the Finnish Presidency who co-hosted the opening gala, the Embassies of EU Member States and the CFI.
The EUFF gala also offered an occasion to recognize the winners of the 2019 EUFF poster contest. Every year, the EUFF is designed by graphic design students from La Cité collégiale as part of a school assignment, with the winning entry becoming the official visual for the festival.
This year's top prize was won by Mathew McDougald. Runners-up included Ignacio Alfonso Jiménez Diaz and Antoine Lafontaine.
The 34th EUFF runs from Saturday, 16 November, through Sunday, 8 December.
