Join the Schuman Challenge 2022!

Each winner of the Schuman Challenge will receive a study visit to Brussels, including flights (from Canada), hotel and stipend. Winners will have the opportunity to experience EU institutions in the Belgian city. The visit will take place in 2023, conditions permitting.
The Schuman Challenge is open to university students at all academic levels—undergrad, postgrad and doctoral studies. To participate, entrants must write a short essay on the following topic: Paradigm shift? What does the EU’s response to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine mean for the future of its foreign policy?
How to enter
Only submissions that meet all the following requirements will be considered by a jury composed of diplomats and professors.
- Entrants must be registered students at a Canadian university in the school year 2022-2023.
- Essays can be written in either English or French and should not exceed five pages or 2,000 words (citations extra).
- Two copies of the essays must be submitted, one in Word and one in PDF format.
- Submissions should be accompanied by a short CV mentioning the entrant’s current studies.
