EU-funded climate modelling workshop with Tsinghua University

On 14 and 15 October, Vicky Pollard, Head of Unit for Strategy, Analysis and Planning at the Directorate General for Climate Actions of the European Commission, participated in a two-day workshop on pathways and targets to climate neutrality.

This event gathered several leading EU experts, EU Delegation representatives, as well a group of scholars from Tsinghua University led by Professor Li Zheng. The discussions touched upon potential pathways for the EU and China and sectoral hypothesis.

These exchanges build on the presentation of the EU’s 2040 target last March, and will continue over the coming year in several similar events.

This event was funded by the European Commission Foreign Partnership Instrument and was co-organised with Institute for Cross-Strait Development of Tsinghua University, founded by Minister Xie Zhenhua.
