Job description
Under the authority of the Head of Delegation (HoD) and the direct supervision of the Head of Cooperation (HoC) and the Team Leader (TL), the jobholder will provide support to the EU’s engagement with China in the area of international cooperation and development / international partnerships. The post will be split (50/50) between support to the Development Counsellor on policy dimensions of this engagement, and work with the Cooperation Section on programme development and management.
The postholder will contribute to these efforts through identification, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and individual projects linked to the Agenda 2030, its Sustainable Development Goals and the European Union’s priorities, in particular Rule of Law and Governance.
S/He will monitor, analyse and report on relevant developments and contribute to briefings, reporting and other tasks as requested.
S/He will carry out analysis and reporting on China's changing role as a global development actor.
S/He will work closely with colleagues in the Delegation, INTPA and lmine DGs on cross-cutting policy areas as well as with other services/stakeholders, including Chinese counterparts.
S/He will promote visibility of EU as the largest global donor and the EU’s international cooperation and development.
The job holder must be prepared to demonstrate the flexibility necessary to contribute to any other priorities as they arise.
