Climate and Wash Resilience Community Project

The overall objective of the project is to provide a healthy living environment for everyone in Tonga through the promotion of decent accessible sanitation & hygiene facilities, utilisation of nature-based approach for food security and strengthening the capacity of women, youth, community leaders, and people living with disability to enable them to effectively take the lead for change on climate actions and sustainable development. 

The project further aims to identify the most vulnerable households to climate impacts and poor inaccessible sanitation & hygiene facilities in the community and ensure the selection process is inclusive, also to build governance and resilience at community level and mitigate negative impacts of climate change on human rights and empowerment of local communities through the implementation of green income generation, accessible sanitation and hygiene facilities and the promotion of sustainable livelihood for rapid recovery.
