Solomon Islands Provincial Governance and Service Delivery Project (PGSDP)
The project aims at building sound, inclusive, transparent, accountable, and institutionally-embedded governance systems for sub-national service delivery, promoting rights realization.
To achieve this goal, the project will support Provincial Governments to improve the provision of health and education services for their citizens as well as strengthen the public administration in charge of providing those services.
To ensure the realization of its objectives, the project will implement the following main activities:
- Development of a Provincial Sector Grants Manual
- Provision of Sector Grants Provincial Administrations and monitoring to ensure accountable, effective service delivery to communities
- Strengthening of the capacities on accountable public financial management of Provincial Governments staff and staff of Health and Education Provincial Divisions
This project contributes (together with a UNICEF-led component) to a broader initiative aiming at supporting Provincial Governance and local administrations’ service delivery in Solomon Islands.
