Strengthening Collaboration, Accountability, Law and Empowering Stakeholders (SCALES)
The SCALES project is designed to support civil society in furthering EU human rights in Fiji by empowering women, youth, children, people with disabilities and marginalized groups, increasing access to justice for survivors of sexual gender-based violence, strengthening capacity of civil society organizations and increasing awareness and participation of men, youth and children regarding sexual reproductive health and rights.
The SCALES project links key line government ministries and engages public and private sector stakeholders in accountability mechanisms. Implemented by Medical Services Pacific (MSP), their outreach team coordinates with key stakeholders to confront issues like stigma, discrimination, unplanned pregnancies, unsafe abortion, miscarriage, sexually transmissible illnesses, infertility, menopause, modern methods of contraceptives and mental health impacts, strengthening local protection systems for women and girls.
