Concert to mark the World Day against Child Labour held in Accra - Sing along with us against child labour in Ghana

To commemorate the World Day against Child Labour, the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, the International Labour Organisation and United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) on Friday, 11 June 2021, organised a music concert to increase awareness of child labour in the Ghana. The concert was on dubbed “Sing along with us against Child labour.

The concert was organised under the framework of a national awareness campaign on child labour and as part of the Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) Programme founded by the EU. The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection who are in the frontline in the fight against child labour in the country and other partners supported it.

In addition to the concert, the EU has been supporting radio campaigns (dissemination of messages around child labour for 2 weeks), the production of a video-documentaries and has been funding radio and video discussions around child labour (on going).

The event provided the opportunity for eleven national musician to perform their songs on child labour in a competition organised last year.
