The EU-Ghana Agricultural Programme – EU-GAP - to support the 10th Annual Pre-harvest Agribusiness Exhibitions and Conference

03.09.2020

The Head of the Political and Press Section at the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, Mr. Pieter Smidt Van Gelder, disclosed the support of the EU-GAP to the 10th Annual Pre-harvest Agribusiness Exhibitions and Conference, on Tuesday 01/09 at the official launch of the event.

The EU-GAP financed by the European Union (EU) is a large investment programme of EUR 132 Million to support the agricultural sector in Ghana under the current Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Ghana.

The Pre-harvest event is a well-established and major initiative for the agriculture sector in Northern Ghana, offering a valuable and stimulating platform for the exchange of views and experiences, fostering existing networks and creating new partnerships, supporting agribusiness development and stimulating the growth of local economies.

This year, in a partnership between the European Union (EU), Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Northern Regional Coordinating Council and other public and private organizations, Agrihouse Foundation organises the 10th edition of this event to foster the discussions, identify interventions and solutions for long term market development and technological opportunities for farmers and value chain actors.

In this particular and difficult time, the EU stays committed to support the agriculture sector and to work together with the Government of Ghana to provide an effective response to the COVID-19 crisis.
