Ghana Delegation pays tribute to its dear colleague and friend, Georgios Tsopanakis in a Memorial Ceremony held at the Ambassador’s Residence on 02 June 2021
At work, his scientific approach was often interwoven with philosophical ideas inherited from Ancient Greece. He would often find inspiration in the wisdom of Greek philosophers, which allowed him to put serious things into diverse perspective.
Georgios was deeply European and Hellenic. He was passionately fond of books and his culture knew no boundaries. Everyone who knew him found it fascinating to share ideas and debate the great issues of the world with him.
His deep voice, with the strong Greek accent he was known for still echoes within the walls of the Delegation. Georgios unanimously leaves the mark of a warm-hearted genuine person.
The Ghanaian partners will fondly remember him for implementing projects truthful to his personality, uncompromising on principles but always empathetic to human reality.
He leaves a great gap in the Delegation and in the hearts of all those who appreciated him dearly.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children and family.
Γιώργο, θα μας λείψεις!
