Preventing Electoral Violence and Providing Security to the Northern Border Regions of Ghana (NorPrevSec) – Output 2: Strengthening Peacebuilding and Violence Prevention Mechanisms and Structures in Northern Ghana

The violence upsurge in the region has particularly raised concerns for Ghana’s security relating to the development of violent extremist groups into the country. It mobilized an important part of the population determined to maintain the high level of cohesion and the culture of dialogue that prevails in the Ghanaian society.

Religious leaders, traditional leaders including queen mothers, civil society representatives, community leaders, youth leaders, women leaders are actively working at the promotion of a peaceful coexistence in the northern part of Ghana and need to be supported.
