Background:

The year 2021 has been declared the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour. In support of the fight against child labour, the European Union, through the Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) programme, launched a campaign specifically aimed at fighting against child labour in Ghana, which will be executed during the first quarter of 2021.

In pursuit of a theme song for this campaign, the European Union is launched a song contest. The winner of this contest will compose the theme song for the campaign, and become the musical face of this noble initiative.

The objective of the competition is to identify, select and contract a singer or band to compose a theme song for the EU’s Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) programme’s campaign against child labour which will be organised around March-April 2021.

The campaign will take place within the context of the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour 2021.

The official song of the campaign will be part of the global Music Against Child Labour Initiative, managed by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
