Ambassador Luca Pierantoni, joined the Ambassadors of EU Member States accredited to CARICOM at the opening of the 51st Regular meeting of the Heads of Government in Saint Lucia.
The relationship between the European Union and Caricom has been mentioned several times in the opening speeches, highlighting the historical and cultural links between the two regions and the importance of our cooperation in an increasingly connected and rapidly changing world. Another focus has been the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). CARICOM and the EU are among the most advanced regional integration processes in the world; they demonstrate that it is possible to build international friendship and solidarity through shared rules and shared institutions.
